Projekt INTEGRA

Projekt INTEGRA má za cíl vylepšit proces integrace cizinců z třetích zemí v pěti zemích EU (Bulharsko, Chorvatsko, Česká republika, Itálie, Slovensko) pomocí sdílených zkušeností a znalostí na úrovni měst. Projekt podporuje hlubší porozumění mezi migrantskými komunitami a majoritní společností. Partneři budou identifikovat stávající a budoucí výzvy v oblasti integrace a budou vytvářet konkrétní opatření k řešení potíží spojených s integrací na lokální úrovni. Hlavními výstupy projektu jsou sestavení mezinárodní sítě, metodik a nástrojů k zapojení cizinců z třetích zemí do iniciativ na lokální úrovni.

The project INTEGRA seeks to improve the process of long-term integration of TCN in 5 EU states (BG, CR, CZ, IT, SK), through city-to-city knowledge and experience sharing. The project will promote deeper mutual understanding between migrant communities and the host society. The project partners will identify current and future challenges to integration and will develop concrete actions to tackle local integration problems. Main outputs of the project INTGRA include the establishment of local and cross-border networks, methodologies and tools that can be used by local level stakeholders to involve TCN in civic initiatives.

V rámci projektu proběhlo/Project events:

21. – 23. 2. 2018 Proběhlo setkání všech partnerů v rámci kick-off meeting. Kromě seznamování proběhlo i schválení prvních výstupů projektu a plánovaly se následující kroky.

12. 4. 2018 – Ve čtvrtek 12. 4. proběhlo v Integračním centru Praha první setkání členů Stakeholder Integration Group (SIG). Setkání se zúčastnilo 5 členů, včetně zástupců Magistrátu hl. m. Prahy, Sociologického ústavu Akademie Věd, neziskového sektoru a migrantů samotných. Účastníkům setkání byly představeny základní informace o projektu (partneři, časový rámec, cíle, hlavní aktivity projektu: city audit – desk research, city safety audit, photovoice, city integration lab, kampaň). Členům byla následně vysvětlena jejich role v projektu a možnosti zapojení se do jednotlivých aktivit.

12. 4. 2018 – On Thursday, April 12^th, the first meeting of Stakeholder Integration Group (SIG) of the INTEGRA project took place at the premises of Prague Integration Centre. The meeting was attended by 5 group members, including representatives of the Prague municipality, the Czech Academy of Sciences, the NGO sector and migrants. During the meeting, the participants were introduced to the INTEGRA project, its objectives and activities, as well as to ICP employees in charge of the project and to each other. They were also acquainted with their roles within the project and the possibilities of involvement in the planned activities. The participants were encouraged to take part in the upcoming activities, namely the focus groups, city safety audit and the photovoice project and to provide tips for other potential participants.

14. 5. 2018 a 11. 6. 2018 – V pondělí 14. 5 a 11. 6. ICP organizovalo dvě plánované skupinové diskuse v rámci projektu INTEGRA. Zúčastnilo se jich dohromady 20 lidí – zástupci rozličných institucí a organizací (Magistrát hlavního města Praha, městské části, Ministerstvo vnitra, policie, akademické a výzkumné instituce, migrantské organizace i neziskový sektor). Probrala se 4 hlavní témata/oblasti diskuse: vize a služby města v oblasti integrace, občanská angažovanost a sociální inkluze CTZ a dalších migrantů, prostředí města a bezpečnost a postoj majority vůči CTZ a dalším migrantům.

14. 5. 2018 a 11. 6. 2018 – On Mondays, May 14^th and June 16^th Integration centre Prague hosted 2 focus groups as a part of the INTEGRA project. They took place at the Academic Conference Centre in the heart of Prague and it was attended altogether by 20 people representing a wide variety of institutions and organizations: the Prague municipality, Prague City districts, the police, the Ministry of Interior, academic and research institutions, migrant organizations as well as the NGO sector. The discussion focused on topics related to City vision and services, civic participation and social inclusion of TCN and migrant communities, urban environment, and safety and attitudes towards TCN and other migrants.

On the 7 th of June, Integration Centre Prague organized first info meeting for PhotoVoice – another activity of the INTEGRA project, during which Czechs and foreigners living in Prague will get a chance to express how they see and experience integration through photos. The meeting was attended by 10 participants representing both Czech and migrant communities, and including representatives of the NGO sector as well as city administration. Since then, the group of participants grew by 10 new members with whom we held additional individual meetings. The deadline for submitting the photos is the end of July and during August, there will be a meeting organized for all the participants, where they will get a chance to meet each other, share the results of their work, and to discuss both positive and negative aspects of integration identified in the photos. Selected photos will be used for an exhibition and promo materials as a part of the INTEGRA campaign organized in 2019.

7.6. proběhlo úvodní setkání k PhotoVoice – další aktivitě projektu INTEGRA, v rámci které mají Češi a cizinci žijící v Praze možnost vyjádřit pomocí fotek, jak vnímají integraci v hlavním městě. Setkání se zúčastnilo 10 zájemců z řad Čechů i cizinců, včetně zástupců neziskového sektoru i Magistrátu hl. města Prahy. Během června se do projektu zapojilo dalších 10 účastníků, se kterými proběhla
dodatečná individuální setkání. Termín zasílání fotografií je konec července, v průběhu srpna bude pro účastníky uspořádané závěrečné setkání, během kterého budou mít možnost vzájemně se poznat, sdílet výsledky své práce a diskutovat nad pozitivními i negativními aspekty integrace, které pomocí fotek zachytili. Vybrané fotografie se stanou součástí výstavy a propagačním materiálů
v rámci kampaně projektu INTEGRA, která proběhne v roce 2019.

INTEGRA – City Walks – Integration Centre Prague

On the 18th and 19th of June and 30th of July, Integration Centre Prague (ICP) organized three “city walks” as a part of the INTEGRA project. The first one took place at Prague 7, a fairly multicultural area of Prague, with a lot of permanent foreign residents, the second one took place in SAPA – the centre of Vietnamese trade, services, as well as education and culture. The last one of the walks was organised around the Prague city centre, an area where the foreigners´ presence is evident mainly through the ever-present tourists. The walks were attended by representatives of TCN, the NGO sector as well as city districts which allowed us to gain access to various perspectives and insights into the topics introduced by the checklists as well as other corresponding themes and issues related to integration in Prague. Despite lower number of attendees, the walks turned out to be very pleasant and informative.

18. a 19. června a 30. července uspořádalo Integrační centrum Praha v rámci projektu INTEGRA 3 procházky Prahou spojené s vyplňováním dotazníků a pořizováním fotek týkajících se tématu integrace a přítomnosti cizinců ve zvolených lokalitách. První se uskutečnila na Praze 7, v městské části, která má značný multikulturní charakter vzhledem k relativně velkému množství cizinců, kteří zde žjí a pracují/podnikají. Druhá procházka se uskutečnila na SAPĚ – v srdci vietnamského obchodu, služeb, vzdělávání a kultury. Poslední z procházek proběhla v centru Prahy, kde je přítomnost cizinců pociťována především skrze všudy-přítomné turisty. Procházek se zúčastnili zástupci cizinců z třetích zemí, neziskového sektoru i městských částí, což nám umožnilo získat různé náhledy a názory na zkoumaná témata. I přes menší počet účastníků se procházky velmi vydařily a získaly jsme díky nim nové a zajímavé informace týkající se tématu integrace a života cizinců v Praze.

PhotoVoice – finální workshop a závěry

16. srpna 2018 se uskutečnil finální workshop pro zájemce z řad účastníků projektové aktivity PhotoVoice. Účastníci měli v rámci workshopu možnost blíže představit své fotografie a následně diskutovat s ostatními účastníky i realizátory projektu nad tématy na nich zachycenými.

Aktivity PhotoVoice se zúčastnilo celkem 20 účastníků (včetně zástupců neziskového sektoru, magistrátu a migrantů), kteří do projektu zaslali na 150 fotografií zachycujících světlé i stinné stránky integrace v Praze. Fotky ukázaly, že Praha je do určité míry město přátelské k migrantům, které se různými prostředky a ve spolupráci s neziskovým sektorem snaží pomoci migrantům s orientací v nové společnosti a integrace do ní. Na druhé straně ale fotografie i následná diskuse s účastníky ukázala, že stále existuje prostor pro zlepšení, ať už se jedná o jazykovou bariéru, diskriminační praktiky, či anti-imigrační nálady převažující v současné české společnosti spojené s nenávistnými projevy. Závěry této aktivity jsou shrnuty v dokumentu Hodnocení strategie města Prahy v oblasti integrace. Vybrané fotografie se navíc stanou součástí výstavy v rámci kampaně, která proběhne v rámci projektu INTEGRA  v roce 2019.

PhotoVoice – final workshop and final conclusions

On August 16th 2018, ICP organized a final workshop for the participants of PhotoVoice. At the workshop, the participants had an opportunity to present their photos and discuss the topics they captured with other participants as well as representatives of ICP.

All in all, 20 people participated in the PhotoVoice activity (including representatives of the NGO sector, the municipality and migrants), who sent in about 150 photographs capturing both „ups“ as well as „downs“ of integration in Prague. The photographs demonstrated, that Prague is, to a certain extent, a city friendly to foreigners, which tries through different means and in cooperation with the NGO sector to help migrants with orientation and integration into the Czech society. On the other hand, however, the photographs as well as the follow-up discussion with  the participants showed, that there is still room for improvement, whether it is regarding a language barrier, discrimination practices, or anti-immigrant moods prevalent in the Czech society and the corresponding hate-speech and hate-crime. The conclusions of the activity are summarized in the Prague City Audit Report in the field of integration. Selected photographs will also become a part of an exhibition which will take place as a part of an INTEGRA campaign in 2019.

City Integration Labs

Ve dnech 30.10. a 6.11. 2018 se uskutečnily v rámci projektu INTEGRA tzv. City Integration Labs. Cílem obou setkání bylo vytvoření základních strategických doporučení pro Prahu na příští 2-3 roky na základě výsledků hodnocení města v oblasti integrace  cizinců, které se uskutečnilo v rámci téhož projektu. Jednotlivá témata a problémy byly diskutovány v rámci pracovních skupin, které se věnovaly následujícím tematickým oblastem: Strategické plánování města a zapojení migrantů, vzájemné soužití a pocit bezpečí, služby města a informovanost obyvatel Prahy.  Setkání se zúčastnilo 28 zástupců neziskového sektoru, města (městských částí i magistrátu), MPSV, akademické obce i samotných migrantů. Vzniklá doporučení byla následně představena a připomínkována v rámci veřejné diskuse, která se uskutečnila 13.11. jako součást Regionální poradní platformy organizované ICP a na jejich základě vznikne tzv. City Integration Agenda (Integrační plán města) shrnující hlavní doporučení pro hl. m. Prahu. Tato doporučení budou následně brána v potaz při přípravě akčních plánů současné Koncepce hl. m. Prahy pro oblast integrace cizinců i její nové verze, která vejde v platnost v lednu 2022.

City Integration Labs

On October 30th and November 6th 2018, ICP organized 2 City Integration Labs as a part of the INTEGRA project. The aim of both of the meetings was to create basic strategic recommendations for Prague for the next 2-3 years, based on the results of a city audit of Prague integration policies and practices realised as a part of the same project. Individual topics and issues were discussed in 3 working groups, which focused on the following thematic areas: Strategic planning and involvement of migrants, Mutual relations and feeling of safety, City services and awareness of Prague inhabitants. The meetings were attended by 28 representatives of an NGO sector, the City (city districts and the municipality), the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs, academic sector as well as migrants themselves. The recommendations created as a result of the labs were then introduced and consulted at a public discussion, which took place on November 13th as a part of the Regional advisory platform organized by ICP, and they will form the basis of a so-called City Integration Agenda summarizing the main recommendations for the City of Prague. This Agenda will then be considered when preparing action plans of the city policy for integration of TCN as well as the policy´s updated version, which will come into effect in January 2022.

17. 1. 2019 – SIG and Stakeholder Consultation meetings

Ve čtvrtek 17. 1. v Akademickém konferenčním centru Akademie věd proběhla dvě setkání k projektu INTEGRA. Nejdříve se sešli členové Stakeholder Integration Group (SIG).  Jednalo se o v pořadí již třetí setkání, kterého se zúčastnilo 5 členů SIG, včetně zástupců města (Magistrát hl. m. Prahy a městské části) a neziskového sektoru. Účastníkům setkání byly prezentovány průběžné výstupy z projektu: materiály Integrační plán a Souhrnné hodnocení měst v oblasti integrace, a čtyři plakáty s infografikami, které informují veřejnost o tématu integrace CTZ v hl. městě a které budou využity v rámci informační kampaně projektu. Účastníkům byly dále představeny další plánované aktivity projektu, které proběhnout jako součást kampaně v průběhu celého roku 2019 (INTEGRA DAY – hlavní zahájení kampaně, výstava PhotoVoice, dílčí aktivity kampaně).

Navazujícího setkání Stakeholder Consultation Meeting, které bylo věnováno detailní prezentaci plánované kampaně a následné diskusi, se zúčastnilo 21 lidí včetně zástupců Magistrátu hl. m. Prahy, městských částí, neziskového sektoru, migrantských spolků a médií. V rámci diskuse účastníci poskytli kritickou zpětnou vazbu  – zaznělo mnoho relevantních nápadů, podnětů a tipů, které budou zohledněny během přípravy kampaně. Účastníci byli dále vyzváni k účasti na plánovaných aktivitách, požádáni o pomoc s jejich propagací a v neposlední řadě také s distribucí plakátů s infografikami. Oficiální představení plakátů účastníkům setkání (kterému předcházela oficiální tisková zpráva) symbolicky odstartovalo celou kampaň, která bude zaměřena nejen na zvyšování informovanosti široké veřejnosti o integraci cizinců v Praze, ale která se bude soustředit především na téma ekonomické migrace.

7.1. 2019 – On Thursday, January 17th two meetings took place as a part of the INTEGRA project. At first, the members of Stakeholder Integration Group (SIG) met for the third time within the project, in order to discuss recent project outputs – namely the City Integration Agenda, the Integrated City Audit Report, and the 4 infographic posters informing the public about the topic of integration of TCN in the city (which will be used as a part of the information campaign of the project). The participants were further informed about the planned project/campaign activities, which will take place throughout the whole year 2019 (INTEGRA DAY –main campaign launch, PhotoVoice exhibition, further partial campaign activities).

Stakeholder Consultation Meeting, which followed, focused on a detailed presentation of the planned campaign and was attended by 21 people, including representatives of the Prague Municipality, city districts, the NGO sector, migrant organizations as well as media. During a follow-up discussion, the participants provided the presenters with valuable critical feedback including many relevant ideas, incentives and tips, which will be taken into consideration when preparing and realising the campaign. The participants were invited to actively participate in the campaign activities, asked to help with their promotion as well as with distribution of the infographic posters. The official presentation of the infographic posters (which had been announced in a press release) presented a symbolic launch of the whole campaign, which will focus on increasing public awareness about the topic of integration of TCN as well as on the topic of economic migration and the corresponding issues.

8. 2. 2019 – Série akcí v rámci kampaně projektu INTEGRA byla zahájena v pátek 8. února česko-arabským interkulturním odpolednem v Domově seniorů na Chodově. Pozvání přijal irácký režisér Ahmed Al-Sabaiei, který divákům z řad obyvatel domova představil svůj dokument Hlasy přicházejí z dáli, který natočil po nedobrovolném odchodu z iráckého Bagdádu do České republiky. V dokumentu zaznamenal upřímnou zpověď tří významných představitelů české kulturní scény arabského původu, kteří se vyznávají ke své lásce k Praze, jež se stala jejich novým domovem. Představiteli dokumentárního filmu jsou spisovatel a překladatel Charif Bahbouh, pedagog a hudebník Marwan Alsolaiman a pedagog, herec a hudebník Rachid Rahma. Následovala diskuse s režisérem a ochutnávka iráckých specialit, které připravila a představila divákům Ahmedova manželka. Akce sklidila velký úspěch a režisér musel přislíbit, že přijde uvést i svůj druhý snímek, který v současné době připravuje ☺

8. 2. 2019 – Integration Centre Prague started a series of INTEGRA campaign events by organizing a Czech-Arabian intercultural afternoon in a retirement home in Chodov, Prague. In the centre of attention was an Iraqi director Ahmed Al-Sabaiei, who introduced to the audience his documentary The Voices Come from Afar, which he made after he came as a refugee to the Czech Republic from Iraqi Baghdad. In the documentary, he presented an honest testimony of three significant representatives of the Czech cultural scene of Arabic origin, who have fallen in love with Prague that has become their new home. The artists are the writer and translator Charif Bahbouh, musician and teacher Marwan Alsolaiman, and an actor, musician and teacher Rachid Rahma. After the documentary screening, a discussion with the director took place along with tasting of Iraqi food prepared by Ahmed´s wife, who also participated in the event. The event was a great success and the director had to promise the audience, that once his second film is ready, he will visit them again ☺

6.2.2019 – Integration Centre Prague launched an online campaign introducing the 4 infographic posters created as a part of the INTEGRA project. The printed version of the posters was introduced to the public in January and was subsequently distributed to various Prague NGOs, public offices and other institutions. On February 5th, the posters were further promoted and disseminated to Prague integration actors, including city officials, at the 34th Regional Advisory Platform organized by ICP.

The posters cover the 4 main topics of the INTEGRA Prague city audit, which was carried out as a part of the INEGRA project throughout 2018, namely City vision and Services, Civic participation and social inclusion of TCN, Urban environment and safety, Attitudes towards foreigners, and Mutual relations between TCN and majority population. The main aim of the posters is to raise awareness of the wide public about the presence and integration of foreigners in Prague. They inform about the number of foreigners living in the city, their countries of origin, reasons for arrival, involvement in the society and distribution in the individual Prague districts. They further introduce the main integration actors in the city, explaining some of the ways/means they use to ensure a smooth integration process – something that benefits the whole society. Last but not least, the posters promote the information and communication channels used by the Prague municipality, namely the TCN-friendly city website Prague for All (www.metropolevsech.cz), the corresponding FB page, as well as the Praguer app developed by Integration Centre Prague to help foreigners with orientation in the city. All of the posters are both in Czech and English in order to ensure a bigger outreach.

As for the online part of the infographic campaign, Integration Centre Prague tried to promote the posters mainly through their FB page. Besides promoting the posters as a whole, they focused on publishing specific infographics they contain, in order to bring more attention to selected issues and information.  The FB posts have been very popular so far – the ones that have already been published have attracted considerable attention: 14 371 people were reached by the posts with 928 engagements, 44 shares and 167 likes. This part of the online campaign will keep running during the rest of March and continue in April 2019.

6.2.2019 – Integrační centrum Praha spustilo 6. února 2019 online kampaň, která představila čtyři plakáty s infografikami vzniklé v rámci projektu INTEGRA. Tištěná verze plakátů byla veřejnosti představena již v lednu a následně se infogafiky distribuovaly do řady neziskových organizací, veřejných institucí apod. V rámci 34. Regionální poradní platformy, pořádané ICP 5. února 2019, byly infografiky ještě dodatečně rozšířeny mezi jednotlivé aktéry na poli integrace, včetně zástupců Magistrátu a jednotlivých městských částí.

Plakáty zachycují čtyři hlavní témata: „Vize a služby města v oblasti integrace“, „Sociální inkluze a občanská angažovanost cizinců“, „Prostředí města a pocit bezpečí“ a „Postoje majority vůči cizincům“; a jejich hlavním cílem je zvýšit povědomí o integraci cizinců v Praze mezi širokou veřejností. Pražané se z nich mohou dozvědět, kolik cizinců v Praze žije, z jakých zemí pocházejí, proč do ČR přicházejí, do jaké míry se do české společnosti zapojili nebo jakou městkou část Prahy si vybrali k životu. Infografiky dále představují hlavní aktéry na poli integrace v Praze a stejně tak i některé nástroje, které město či neziskový sektor využívá k zajištění hladkého integračního procesu. V neposlední řadě plakáty informují o hlavních komunikačních kanálech, které Praha využívá – jedná se především o webovou stránku (nejen) pro cizince www.metropolevsech.cz, stejnojmennou FB stránku či aplikaci Praguer, kterou ICP za podpory města vyvinulo pro lepší orientaci cizinců ve městě. Všechny plakáty jsou v českém a anglickém jazyce.

ICP se snaží plakáty propagovat především skrze své sociální sítě. Obzvlášť velký ohlas mají FB příspěvky s dílčími informacemi, které jsou v plakátech uvedeny. Zveřejněné Facebookové posty zatím „zasáhly“ 14 371 lidí,  z nichž 44 lidí je sdílelo a 167 „lajkovalo“. Tato online kampaň bude i nadále probíhat v průběhu března a dubna 2019 a navážou na ní další aktivity kampaně.

25. dubna byla zahájena fotografická výstava #howyouseeintegration aneb Integrace cizinců očima Pražanů, která vznikla v rámci projektu INTEGRA. Vystavované fotografie představují názory na integraci cizinců v Praze celkem třinácti vystavujících jak z řad migrantů, tak i většinové společnosti, kteří se zapojili do výzkumné aktivity PhotoVoice. Fotografie jsou tak doplněny i zajímavými komentáři a u pěti vystavujících si může návštěvník poslechnout i záznam rozhovoru, který byl pro účely výstavy pořízen.

Komentované prohlídky výstavy se nejdříve zúčastnili členové platformy městských částí, následně si výstavu mohli prohlédnout chlapci z diagnostického ústavu, načež proběhla vernisáž, na kterou dorazila široká veřejnost.   

Vernisáž byla součástí akce Open doors, aneb jak integrujeme cizince?, v rámci níž Integrační centrum Praha otevřelo na celý den své dveře všem Pražanům a představilo interaktivní formou služby, které poskytuje migrantům, kteří se chtějí v Praze integrovat. Celá událost se uskutečnila u příležitosti sedmi let od založení ICP.

Výstava bude zdobit prostory Integračního centra Praha do 24. května, a poté poputuje do Senátu Parlamentu České republiky.

On April 25th, Integration Centre Prague officially opened an audio-visual PhotoVoice exhibition named Integration of foreigners through the eyes of Praguers, which was created as a part of the INTEGRA project campaign. The exhibition presented photos, comments and audio testimonies of Praguers, including both Czechs and foreigners, through which they expressed their views on integration and their personal experience with the topic.

The exhibition was first introduced to the members of the platform of city districts, which consists of integration coordinators/city officials from the individual Prague city districts and then to a group of boys from a diagnostic institute who came for a guided tour of the centre. Later in the evening, an official vernissage took place, which opened the exhibition to the wide public. The vernissage was initiated with a speech by the INTEGRA project coordinator as well as one of the photographers from Israel, and it was also accompanied by music and tasting of Balkan food. The exhibition was attended by approximately 60 people and it will stay open to the public at ICP till the 24th of May. After that, the exhibition will move to the Czech Senate.

The showing of the exhibition as well as the vernissage took place as a part of a bigger Open Doors event of Integration Centre Prague, which was organised on the occasion of the 7th birthday of the organization.

28. května proběhla v Senátu Parlamentu České republiky vernisáž audiovizuální výstavy PhotoVoice – Integrace cizinců očima Pražanů. Výstava byla doplněna infografikami zobrazujícími činnost Integračního centra Praha a jeho partnerských organizací – Organizace pro pomoc uprchlíkům, InBáze, Sdružení pro integraci a migraci a Poradna pro integraci. Vernisáž zahájil senátor prof. RNDr. Václav Hampl, DrSc., pod jehož záštitou se celá akce konala. Na úvod také promluvil ředitel Integračního centra Praha Bc. Zdeněk Horváth, koordinátorka projektu Veronika Spiegelová či jedna z autorek fotografií z Izraele, Elmira Borodiyenko. Akci doprovodila Aldana Duoraan hrou na tradiční jakutský nástroj khomus a na návštěvníky z řad senátorů, dalších politiků, představitelů města a neziskového sektoru čekalo také drobné pohoštění syrské a balkánské kuchyně. Na závěr vernisáže se uskutečnila komentovaná prohlídka prostor Senátu, které zaujala především samotné autory fotografií, pocházejících ze třetích zemí. Výstava bude k vidění v předsálí jednacího sálu Senátu Parlamentu ČR do 10. června 2019.

On the 28th of May, Integration Centre Prague in cooperation with the senator Hampl organized a vernissage of the PhotoVoice exhibition – Integration of Foreigners through the Eyes of Praguers in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The exhibition was accompanied by infographic posters and videos introducing the work of ICP as well as its partner organizations – InBáze, Organization for Aid to Refugees, Association for Integration and Migration and Counselling Centre for Integration. The vernisaage was opened by a speech by the senator himself, followed by the director of ICP Zdeněk Horváth and the INTEGRA project coordinator Veronika Spiegelová. The visitors, including city and state representatives also had a chance to hear one of the PhotoVoice authors, Elmira Borodiyenko, speak about her experience with the PhotoVoice project. After the formal introduction, the visitors could enjoy music performed by Aldana Duoraan, who played the traditional Yakutian instrument khomus, as well as taste some Syrian and Bosnian cuisine. At the end of the event, a guided tour of the Senate took place, which was a great opportunity for the TCN representatives in the audience to learn more about the history and functioning of the Czech Senate. The exhibition will stay in the vestibule of the Senate conference hall till June 10th.

On the 11th of June 2019, Integration Centre Prague has attended and actively participated in the EU INTEGRA DAY in Brussels as a part of the INTEGRA project. A year and a half after the project launch, the project partners reflected on their experience and proposed policy recommendations regarding TCN integration for the local as well as national and European level. It was also a great opportunity to share the creative tools and information materials developed for the project campaign. The event was hosted by the European Committee of the Regions and it was moderated by the project manager Sevdalina Voynova from Bulgaria. Among the speakers were also representatives of ICP (Luboš Kožíšek) as well as other Czech stakeholders, including Barbora Chrzová from the Consortium of Migrants Assisting Organizations as well as the chairman of the Committee of the Prague City Council for the integration of foreign nationals, Ondřej Mirovský.

11.6. se Integrační centrum Praha v rámci projektu INTEGRA aktivně zúčastnilo akce EU INTEGRA DAY v Bruselu. Rok a půl po zahájení projektu zde projektoví partneři sdíleli nabyté zkušenosti a představili sérii doporučení, týkající se tématu integrace cizinců, pro lokální, národní i evropsko-unijní úroveň. Partneři zároveň využili této příležitosti k představení nástrojů a výstupů kampaně projektu. Akce se konala pod záštitou Evropského výboru regionů a byla moderována hlavní manažerkou celého projektu, Sevdalinou Voynovou z Bulharska. Mezi řečníky se objevili i zástupci ICP (Luboš Kožíšek) a dalších stakeholderů, včetně Barbory Chrzové z Konsorcia nevládních organizací pracujících s migranty a Ondřeje Mirovského, předsedy Komise HHMP pro oblast integrace cizinců.

On June 27th, Integration Centre Prague organized a guided tour of SAPA for elementary school students, as a part of the INTEGRA campaign. SAPA is a well-known centre of trade and culture of the Vietnamese, the second largest TCN community in the Czech Republic and the third biggest one in Prague. It is also one of the places identified and evaluated within the city audit (through an activity “city walk with checklist”), that was conducted last year as a part of the INTEGRA project.  

The guided tour was a great opportunity for the participants to learn about the Vietnamese community living in the Czech Republic. The tour was guided by one of ICP´s most experienced intercultural workers for the Vietnamese community, who showed the students interesting SAPA places, including the famous Dong Do restaurant, the “financial road” where various businesses and institutions are located (banks, insurance companies, travel agencies, etc.) as well as the SAPA Buddhist temple. She also discussed with the students the specifics of Vietnamese culture as well as some of the hardships the Vietnamese face when integrating into the Czech society. At the end of the tour, the participants enjoyed tasting of authentic Vietnamese cuisine.

27. června uspořádalo Integrační centrum Praha v rámci kampaně projektu INTEGRA komentovanou prohlídku Sapy pro studenty základní školy z městské části Praha Libuš. Sapa je známým obchodním a kulturním centrem Vietnamců, druhé největší komunity cizinců v České republice a třetí největší v Praze (nepočítáme-li občany Slovenska). Sapa byla zároveň jedním ze zkoumaných/hodnocených míst města Prahy v rámci hodnocení (konkrétně v rámci aktivity „evaluační procházka městem s dotazníkem“), které v rámci projektu INTEGRA proběhlo v minulém roce.

V rámci prohlídky měli studenti možnost dozvědět se více o vietnamské komunitě žijící v ČR. Prohlídku vedla jedna ze zkušených interkulturních pracovnic ICP, která účastníkům představila zajímavá místa Sapy, včetně známé Dong Do restaurace, místního budhistického chrámu, i mnoho dalších podniků a institucí, jež se na Sapě nachází. Studenti se zároveň seznámili se specifiky vietnamské kultury i těžkostmi, kterým musí Vietnamci čelit při integraci do české společnosti. Na konci prohlídky si účastníci pochutnali na autentické vietnamské kuchyni.

Září 2019 – Integrační centrum Praha představilo další výstup kampaně projektu INTEGRA – webovou stránku PhotoVoice: https://photovoice.icpraha.com/. Tato webová stránka navazuje na audio-vizuální výstavu „Integrace cizinců očima Pražanů“, kterou ICP připravilo v dubnu 2019, a představuje vybrané autory z Ruska, Izraele, Bulharska, Běloruska, Chile a dalších zemí, kteří pomocí fotek, komentářů a audio-rozhovorů sdílí své zkušenosti s integrací do české společnosti. Vedle webové stránky vznikla čtveřice zinů/letáků, které budou při rozličných příležitostech distribuovány široké veřejnosti za účelem zvýšení povědomí o PhotoVoice webu (skrze QR kód), o projektu INTEGRA i obecně o přítomnosti cizinců v Praze.

September 2019 – Integration centre Prague has introduced another part of the INTEGRA campaign – the PhotoVoice website: https://photovoice.icpraha.com/. It is a follow-up of the audio-visual exhibition “Integration of Foreigners through the eyes of Praguers”, which ICP prepared in April 2019 and which introduced selected PhotoVoice authors from Russia, Israel, Bulgaria, Belarus, Chile and other countries, who shared their experience with integrating into the Czech society through photos, comments and audio-interviews. Apart from the website,  4 zines/pamphlets were created, which will be distributed at various events to general public, in order to raise their awareness about the PhotoVoice website (through a QR code), about the INTEGRA project as such, as well as more generally about the presence of foreigners in Prague.

11th September 2019 – ICP organised two presentations on Syria and refugees for elementary school students as a part of the INTEGRA-day campaign series. The presentations took place in a cultural centre at Prague 22 as a part of local community event Day of Health and Equal Opportunities. The presentations were prepared in cooperation with Rober Netuka from Organisation for Aid to Refugees and Roz Somolíková Shero, who is a Kurdish woman originally from Syria and who has been working as an inter-cultural worker for the Arab-speaking community at ICP. The presentations were attended by 4 classes of 4th graders and 5th graders who learned interesting information about Syria as well as her story of becoming a refugee and building a new life in the Czech Republic. As a part of the presentation, a short documentary was screened about Roz´s younger sister Sylva and her experience with going to school and making friends in the Czech Republic.

11. září 2019 – ICP zorganizovalo dvě přednášky na téma Sýrie a uprchlictví pro žáky základní školy na Praze 22 v rámci místní komunitní akce “Den zdraví a rovných příležitostí”. Přednášky byly realizovány ve spolupráci s Robertem Netukou z Organizace pro pomoc uprchlíkům a s Roz Somolíkovou Shero, Kurdkou ze Sýrie, která pracuje v ICP jako interkulturní pracovnice pro arabsky-mluvící klienty. Přednášek se zúčastnily 4 třídy čtvrťáků a páťáků, kteří se dozvěděli zajímavé informace o Sýrii i o tom, jak se Roz stala uprchlicí a jak našla nový domov v České republice. Součástí prezentace bylo promítání dokumentu Jmenuji se Sylva… , který vypráví o mladší sestře Roz a ukazuje např. to, jak se Sylva začlenila do české školy a jak vychází se svými českými spolužáky.

10.10.2019 – Integrační centrum Praha pokřtilo a oficiálně zveřejnilo v rámci kampaně projektu INTEGRA podcastovou sérii Salad Bowl of Prague: Voices. Série představuje příběhy čtyř cizinců, kteří se usadili v Praze a svou činností z ní dělají pestřejší a bohatší místo. Provozují vynikající restaurace, šijí výjimečné šaty nebo vyrábějí lahodnou zmrzlinu. Jaké to je odejít do cizí země a uspět v ní? Potýkají se s jazykovou bariérou, xenofobií a steskem po domově? A co vlastně člověka dovede k tomu svůj domov opustit? Od 10. října bude na webové stránce https://saladbowlofprague.cz/voices/ postupně zveřejněn příběh Indonésanky Juanity, Tibeťana Sonama, Vietnamky Mimi, a balkánské rodinné trojice Biljany, Zlatka a Bojana. Jednotlivé díly lze také najít na Spotify, iTunes či Youtube. 

Oficiální křest série se uskutečnil v rámci Dne otevřených dveří ICP 10. října za přítomnosti třech hlavních protagonistů i autora podcastu, Petra Boušky. Protagonisté sdíleli své zážitky a zkušenosti z natáčení a vyjádřili naději, že série přispěje ke zvýšení informovanosti o přítomnosti cizinců v Praze a jejich lepšímu přijetí ze strany české majority. Sonam a Juanita připravili pro tuto příležitost indonéské a tibetské pohoštění, křest byl zakončen hudebním vystoupením Kurda syrského původu, Mirana Kasem.

10.10.2019 – Integration Centre Prague officially launched a new podcast series Salad Bowl of Prague: Voices as a part of the INTEGRA campaign. The series introduces the stories of 4 foreigners, who have settled down in Prague and who make it a more interesting and richer place. They run great restaurants, sew beautiful dresses or make delicious ice cream. What it is like to leave one´s home for a foreign country and succeed in it? How do they deal with a language barrier, xenophobia and homesickness? And why does someone decide to leave their home? Each week from the 10th of October, you can listen to a story of Juanita of Indonesian origin, the Tibetan Sonam, Mimi from Vietnam and the Balkan family trio Biljan, Zlatka and Bojan. The podcast series (in Czech) is available at: https://saladbowlofprague.cz/voices/ as well as on Spotify, iTunes, or Youtube. 

The official launch took place as a part of the Open Doors vol. 2 event of Integration Centre Prague on the 10th of October in the presence of three of the main protagonists as well as the author of the series, Petr Bouška. They all shared their experience with making the series and expressed hope that the podcast will help raise awareness about the presence of foreigners in Prague and help their better acceptance by the Czech majority. Sonam and Juanita prepared special Indonesian and Tibetan snacks for the occasion and the event ended with a musical performance by a Kurdish singer of Syrian origin, Miran Kasem.

12. – 14. 10. 2019 – Zástupci ICP navštívili spolu s Janem Janouškem, expertem integrace cizinců z magistrátu hlavního města Prahy, slovenské partnery projektu INTEGRA v Košicích.  V rámci návštěvy se ICP seznámilo s výstupy INTEGRA kampaně partnerské organizace ETP Slovensko a absolvovalo mj. prohlídku po zajímavých migrantských podnicích s nabídkou zahraniční kuchyně, které se staly součástí informační mapy (jeden z nástrojů slovenské kampaně). Ústředním bodem a hlavním cílem setkání byla realizace workshopu s názvem „Vzájemná inspirace měst Prahy a Košice v oblasti integrace cizinců“, v rámci kterého byly prezentovány nejen aktivity projektu INTEGRA, ale především dobrá praxe hl. m. Prahy a ICP v oblasti integrace cizinců. Workshopu se zúčastnilo celkem 28 osob, včetně představitelů košického kraje, magistrátu města Košice, Ministerstva vnitra SR, i místních kulturních a neziskových organizací. Vzhledem k úspěchu celé akce nyní projektoví partneři diskutují možnost návštěvy slovenských zástupců v Praze.

12. – 14. 10 2019 – ICP representatives along with Jan Janoušek, the expert on integration of foreigners from Prague city hall, visited Slovakian partners of the INTEGRA project in Košice. As a part of the visit, ICP was introduced to the INTEGRA campaign outputs created by the partner organisation ETP Slovakia. For example, they were given a guided tour of interesting migrant businesses offering foreign cuisine, which were included in an information map, one of the Slovakian INTEGRA campaign tools. The highlight and the main purpose of the visit was realisation of the workshop: „Mutual inspiration of the cities of Prague and Košice in the field of integration of foreigners“, as a part of which the participants were introduced to the INTEGRA project activities as well as the good practice of Prague municipality and ICP in the field of integration of foreigners. The workshop was attended by 28 people, including representatives of the Košice regional office, Košice municipality, Ministry of Interior of Slovakia, and the local cultural and non-profit organisations. As the visit was a success, the project partners are currently discussing the possibility of Slovakian representatives coming for a study visit to Prague in the upcoming months.

The final meeting of the Stakeholder Integration Group 

On November 11th, the final meeting of the project Stakeholder Integration Group (SIG) took place at Integration Centre Prague. The meeting was attended by 4 stakeholders who have been closely involved in all of the project activities as well as 3 ICP/INTEGRA employees. 

In the first half of the meeting, the first year of the project was summarized by Luboš Kožíšek, the INTEGRA project expert. As a part of his presentation, he outlined the 12 main integration challenges identified in the City Integration Agenda, upon which a discussion with the SIG members took place regarding the project developments and achievements. Among the main achievements, contributions and follow-up initiatives of the INTEGRA project were mentioned the following ones: 

• Pilot program of social media groups for foreigners living at a specific Prague city district (FB for the Vietnamese, Vkontaktě group for the Russians) with the aim to raise awareness about events happening at the specific location.
• New positions of intercultural workers and community workers at individual Prague city districts (Prague 7, Prague 13, Prague 14)
• Targeted terrain research at Prague City District at Prague 10 (a district with high concentration of foreigners)
• Development of volunteering opportunities for foreigners – organisation of a round table “Volunteering of foreigners as a means of integration” as a part of the Regional Advisory Platform. Developmet of a database of volunteering opportunities for foreigners.
• Promotion on the city website and FB for foreigners “Prague for All” – through social media, posters, fliers, etc.
• Creation of a new position of an “Integration Specialist at city districts” at ICP who focuses on networking, supporting and cooperating with the representatives of individual Prague city districts. 
• “10 tips on how to communicate with a foreigner” – material developed by ICP intended for all those who encounter foreigners in their every work (including city offices employees).
• Organisation of a conference (ICP): “Through Communication to Integration: International Perspective, Local Context” which focused on the topic of communication with and about migrants.
• Organisation of an intercultural seminar for school directors in order to increase their intercultural competences (ICP).  

In the second half of the meeting, the SIG members were introduced to the INTEGRA campaign, which has taken place throughout the whole year 2019. Jekaterina Gazukina, the project assistant who was in charge of this part of presentation, talked about the offline events which took place as well as the online creative tools and information materials developed as a part of INTEGRA. The SIG members got a chance to evaluate the individual campaign activities and their impact and brainstormed new ways to promote the campaign tools in the remaining time of the project as well after it will have finished. Overall, the SIG members evaluated the project in a positive way, primarily stressing the positive contribution of the City Integration Audit and Agenda for the development of the city integration policy and practice. Moreover, they particularly appreciated the PhotoVoice activity, both as a research and a campaign tool.

Finální setkání SIGu (Stakeholder Integration Group)

11. listopadu se uskutečnilo poslední setkání skupiny SIG v rámci projektu INTEGRA. Setkání se zúčastnili 4 členové SIGu a 3 zástupci ICP/projektu INTEGRA. V první části setkání shrnul expert projektu, Luboš Kožíšek, první rok projektu. V rámci své prezentace připomenul 12 hlavních integračních výzev představených v Prague City Integration Agenda (Integrační plán města Prahy), načež přítomní diskutovali o jednotlivých úspěších i celkovém přínosu projektu. Projekt INTEGRA přispěl mimo jiné k realizaci následujících integračních opatření:

• pilotní program – tvorba skupin na soc. sítích pro cizince žijící v rámci specifické MČ (např. FB skupina pro Vietnamce, skupina na Vkontakte pro rusky mluvící, atd.) s cílem zvýšit jejich povědomí o událostech, které se dějí v rámci dané lokality  
• zavádění nových pozic interkulturních pracovníků na MČ (Praha 7, 13,14)
• realizace cíleného terénní výzkum na Praze 10 (MČ se zvýšenou koncentrací cizinců)
• rozvoj dobrovolnických příležitostí pro cizince – organizace kulatého stolu „Dobrovolnictví cizinců jako nástroj integrace“ jako součást regionální poradní platformy; rozvoj databáze dobrovolnických příležitostí pro cizince.
• rozvoj a propagace webu a FB města Prahy „Metropole všech“, určeného pro cizince žijící v Praze
• vytvoření nové pozice v ICP: “Specialista integrace na MČ”, která má na starost síťování, podporu a spolupráci se zástupci jednotlivých MČ
• vytvoření manuálu „Desatero pro komunikace s cizincem“ – materiál vytvořen ICP pro všechny, kteří se ve své (každodenní) práci setkávají s cizinci (včetně zaměstnanců městských úřadů)
• organizace konference „Komunikací k integrace“, která se zaměřila na téma komunikace s a o migrantech (organizátorem ICP ve spolupráci s MHMP)
•  organizace interkulturního semináře pro ředitele škol za účelem zvýšení jejich interkulturních kompetencí. 

V druhé části setkání představila asistentka projektu INTEGRA, Jekaterina Gazukina, členům SIG výstupy offline a online kampaně, která se uskutečnila během celého roku 2019. Členové SIG dostali příležitost ohodnotit jednotlivé aktivity a materiály kampaně a jejich dosah a zároveň přinesli nové nápady na další propagaci jednotlivých nástrojů kampaně ve zbývajících týdnech projektu, jakož i po jeho skončení. Celkově ohodnotili členové SIGu projekt pozitivně – zdůraznili především přínos City Integration Auditu, a Agendy, které přispěly k rozvoji integrační politiky a praxe města Prahy. Velký úspěch sklidila také aktivita PhotoVoice, jakožto vhodný nástroj výzkumu i kampaně.

12.12. 2019 – Integration Centre Prague has moved the PhotoVoice exhibition “Integration of Foreigners through the Eyes of Praguers”, which was created as a part of the INTEGRA project, to the New Town Hall where it will be located and available to the city employees as well as public till mid January. The exhibition will be displayed in one of the main hall, through which pass about 60 people every day.

12.12.2019 – Integrační centrum Praha přesunulo výstavu PhotoVoice „Integrace cizinců očima Pražanů“, která vznikla v rámci projektu INTEGRA, do prostor Nové radnice, kde bude umístěná a přístupná zaměstnancům i veřejnosti do půlky ledna 2020. Výstava je k dispozici v jedné z hlavních chodeb radnice, kde se každý den v průměru vyskytuje kolem 60 návštěvníků/zaměstnanců.
